When Eyes No Longer Meet

Today, and perhaps every day, I find myself thinking about all that’s happening in our world, and the following questions come to mind.

Are we still human beings who feel, who carry one another’s burdens? Do we still have compassion, or have we become cold and unfeeling? Are we so materialistic that we no longer look in our brothers’ eyes, our sisters’ eyes, and see the humanity of their being? Do we still care? Have we forgotten that we are all connected?

Are these days deja vu? Do we see ourselves living in our history books? What time period are we living in? And the times, are they a-changing? As the world gets older, are we progressing or declining? Do we still strive to become a better version of ourselves? Have we forgotten our Maker? Is this the last generation we’re living in?

Time will tell.
